Tarte Clean Slate Flawless Brightening Primer Review & Photos

Rating: 10/10

Sold: Sephora, Ulta, & Tarte

Price: $30.00

Description: “A waterproof, 12-hour primer helps makeup stay in place longer while brightening skin for a healthy, glowing complexion”

Review:

Pros

  • Has the texture of a lotion – not silicone based at all!
  • Leaves the skin looking nourished and moisturized (which ends up brightening the skin
  • Leaves the skin feeling slightly tacky, which helps liquid and powder products stay on longer
  • Reminds me of Benefit That Gal – which I think I would enjoy so much better now that my skin is drier!

Cons

  • Could feel a little greasy if you have oily skin – but I think it’s a great winter primer!

Urban Decay Eden Primer Potion Review, Swatch, & Photos

Rating: 9/10

Price: $20.00

Description: “Vibrant, crease-free color for 24 hours”

Review:

Pros

  • Has a yellow tint to it – evens out the lid
  • Very similar to MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot in color
  • Lasts at least 14 hours on me
  • Dries very fast
  • Allows shadows to blend very easily

Cons

  • I don’t think they should claim this to be 24 hours
  • They need to make a cooler tone version of this for those with pinker skintones

Rimmel Fix & Perfect Primer Review, Swatch, & Photos

Rating: 5/10

Sold: Drugstores

Price: $5.00 - $8.00

Description: Creates a perfect canvas for foundation application; smooths and evens out complexion; prolongs the wear of foundation; minimizes pores

Directions: Apply before face makeup

Review:

Pros
  • Smooths and preps the face for foundation
  • has a more moisturizing texture; rather than oily or silicone-based
  • good amount of product

Cons
  • looks orange on fair skin (only comes in one shade)

Overall, I think this foundation may be good for darker skin tones with normal to dry skin, but for my fair and oily skin tone it did not work.
